Pesticide and Herbicide Use
Park and Common Areas:
In the interest of keeping the park accessible to everyone including children, the elderly, and other individuals who cannot be exposed to certain chemicals, park and common areas are maintained without the use of registered pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.
If at some point it becomes necessary to apply these chemicals, homeowners will be notified in advance. The application site will be clearly marked before, during, and after the application.
Individual Front Yards:
Please make your own determinations as to whether you would like pesticides, herbicides, and insecticides to be applied on your property.
Please note that the Board members and Landscape Committee volunteers have not made any assessments or determinations regarding the toxicity, hazards, and risks these pesticides and herbicides may pose to humans, children, and pets. The HOA simply passes the options and information provided by the landscape contractors along to homeowners.
Homeowners who do not want pesticides and herbicides on their property can opt out. Contact the Association Manager to add your home to the No Spray List. A small colored dot may be placed on the side of your mail post indicating your choice - this helps the landscapers honor your wishes.
Notice: Signs are posted on the guardhouse or the front gate when pesticides are applied. These signs list the material being applied, the target pest, the area treated, and the EPA Toxicity Category and Signal Word.
